We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a support team in Dee Why NSW 2099.

This opportunity is ideal for support workers seeking extra shifts to complement their existing schedule.

About The Role:
  • Providing support to a male participant (8 years old) a valid Working with Children Check is mandatory.
  • Assisting with community access and participation in activities.
  • Supporting the participant during walks and outings, providing gentle guidance and physical assistance when required.
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in meaningful activities.
  • Providing personal care and domestic assistance.
  • Supporting safe routines while promoting the participant’s wellbeing and development.

About You:
  • Female (preference).
  • Experience supporting children with Autism and/or vision impairments.
  • Patient, calm, soothing communication, and gentle in your approach.
  • Confident providing physical support when required.
  • Able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with families and support teams.
  • Reliable and committed to providing consistent support.
  • Understanding of sensory sensitivities and strategies to support emotional regulation.

Shifts Available (Ongoing):
  • Tuesday: 5:00pm – 7:00pm (2 hours per week).

Additional shifts may be available in the future, subject to needs and roster availability.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Disability Support Worker.
  • Experience supporting children with Autism, sensory needs, or vision impairments.
  • Ability to provide personal care, domestic assistance, and social support.
  • Proactive approach to supporting clients to achieve goals and maintain community participation.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Physically capable of providing safe mobility support and assisting with community access.
  • Ability to build rapport with children and create a positive, supportive environment.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Providing support with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks.
  • Supporting community access and participation.
  • Encouraging safe mobility and confidence while walking.
  • Assisting the participant to maintain independence within daily routine.
  • Working collaboratively with family members and the broader care team.
  • Providing practical support tailored to the participant’s individual needs.
  • Following care plans and maintaining accurate documentation.

Compliance Requirements:
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check (Service NSW).
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Full Australian driver’s licence and own car.
  • Comprehensive car insurance.
