Disability Support Worker (Part-Time) – Northern Beaches
Advantage Healthcare Support (AHS) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week) in Sydney's Northern Beaches.
We are looking for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting people with disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals, and enjoy meaningful participation in their community.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants with a range of complex needs, helping them maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Your Duties May Include
- Personal care and daily living assistance
- Community access and social support
- Manual handling and hoist transfers
- Supporting participants with complex behaviours and high-care needs
- Transportation to appointments and community activities
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation
- Promoting participant choice, dignity, and independence
About You
To be successful in this role, you need to have:
- Experience supporting people with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to participants with acquired brain injury, non-verbal communication needs, vision impairment, dementia, physical disabilities, and complex or challenging behaviours
- Experience with hoist transfers and manual handling techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional, reliable, and punctual work ethic
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities
- A commitment to ongoing learning and career development
- Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude
Essential Compliance Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Full Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Full Australian working rights
