Disability Support Worker – Northern Beaches (Collaroy NSW 2097)
Advantage Healthcare Support (AHS) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in Sydney's Northern Beaches.
We are looking for a dedicated professional who can provide person-centred support to a participant with complex needs, helping maintain independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
This opportunity is ideal for support workers seeking extra shifts to complement their existing schedule.
About This Role:
- Providing support to a female participant.
- Assisting with hoist and sling for all transfers.
- Providing personal care and domestic assistance.
- Assisting with medication assistance and following care plans accurately.
- Assisting with community access and participation in activities.
- Supporting safe routines while promoting the participant’s wellbeing.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Female carer (participant's preference).
- Have strong communication skills.
- Provide clear and consistent verbal instructions during the transfer procedure.
- Experience with hoist transfers and manual handling techniques.
- Experience supporting people with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to participants with acquired brain injury, non-verbal communication needs, vision impairment, dementia, physical disabilities, and complex or challenging behaviours.
- A professional, reliable, and punctual work ethic.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and career development.
- Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude.
Shifts Available (Ongoing):
- Monday: 7:00am – 9:00am / 4:00pm – 6:00pm.
- Tuesday: 7:00am – 9:00am / 5:00pm – 7:30pm.
- Thursday: 7:00am – 9:00am.
Additional shifts may be available in the future, subject to needs and roster availability.
Essential Compliance Requirements:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Full Australian Driver Licence.
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
- Full Australian working rights.
